Sentinel tree

Last Sunday, I made an enjoyable road trip to the little town of Keremeos. It was a familiar trip, made hundreds of times as I grew up in the Kootenays. This road goes through rainforests, alpine meadows and into the desert with a spectacular variety of trees and flora. I stopped often along the way, snapping reference photos for future art. This sentinel tree, overlooking the Similkaneen River, was one of the many that caught my eye.
